Iggy
"Soon Iggy, tall and pale, slouched into the kitchen. Eyes closed, he fell on our beat-up couch with perfect aim. The only time he has trouble being blind is when one of us forgets and moves furniture or something. 'Hey Ig, rise and shine,' I said. 'Bite me,' he mumbled sleepily." Max & Iggy (Maximum Ride: The Angel Experimemt page10)
Iggy is fourteen and the third oldest member of the flock; his blindness, caused by a failed attempt to surgically enhance his night vision when he was younger, is one of his defining traits. He is very talented at building and using bombs, which he makes in cooperation with his best friend, the Gasman. He is also skilled at picking locks as Max mentions in the first book. Since he became blind, his other senses have been greatly heightened (e.g.. identifying members of the flock by the feel of their skin or feathers, a quasi-echolocation, telling when someone is coming through vibrations in the floor, and discovering a man's credit card password through the musical tones created by the keypad), and he uses them to compensate for his inability to see. Although he is blind, Iggy is the only one in the flock who can cook well.
Iggy's real name is James Griffiths. He is the first member of the flock who has located his biological parents, but he left their custody to rejoin the Flock when they attempted to sell his life story to eight different magazines, much to his disappointment in his mother and father. His name in the flock "Iggy" could be derived from the Latin "Ignis" meaning "Fire" which would suit the pyromaniac nicely.
Iggy is also very tall (in fact the tallest member of the flock) at around 6' 3", hence naturally attracting attention in public, whether good or bad. He became friends with a girl named Tess when the flock enrolls in private school, although briefly, because soon after they find that their high school is actually run by The School, and obviously have to leave. Iggy has strawberry blond hair and (sightless) blue eyes.

Ella is the daughter of Dr. Martinez and the half sister of Max. She is a 12 year old, and "secretly" in love with a boy from her class by the name of Shaw Akers. Max first meets her when Ella was about to be mugged. Max stopped this from happening and is then shot by the mugger. Max asks for help and spends two days recupperating at Ella house. Ella appears twice in the third book, once when Max asks for Dr. Martinez and the second time at the end of the book. Throughout the series, Ella wishes that Max is her sister and is thrilled at the end of the third book to find out that this is the case. She seems somewhat in awe of the rest of the Flock and thinks that Iggy's ability to eat perfectly even though he is blind is "amazing". It is implied that Ella and Iggy have some sort of attraction to each other.
so Ella IS 12... huh. well that's not much of an age diff. my parents r 2 years apart.

ARGH!!! that audiobook is annoying the crap out of me! barely ANY Iggy!!! i need more Iggy to survive!!!
they had Fang telling Iggy about the cheerleaders at the football game...
and this part, and that's basicly it:
"Oh, man, this smells so good!" Iggy moaned.
Ella watched him as he started eating, not spilling a drop.

I bought the Maximum ride 3 audiobook on Ebay... and ya know chapter 65? at the beach? "Unerringly, Iggy's hand shot out and grabbed a fistful of Fang's shirt. He pulled Fang's face close to his own. 'Describe. The. People.'" lol yeah, that chapter. well, THE AUDIOBOOK DOESN'T HAVE IT!!! NOOOOO!!! i LOVE that chapter! its kida gross, but also really funny! they took out Fang's POV completly! ONCE they had a post from his blog, but that was it! NOOOOOO!!!

Chapter 1
Ahhh. There’s nothing better than going for a fly on a nice day like this—even if we were running for our lives.
“Oh, my gosh! A UFO!” Gazzy said suddenly, pointing into the empty sky. He’s been doing this for the past couple of hours. It’s been getting pretty annoying. Actually, it was always annoying.
“That was funny the first fifty times. It’s getting old,” said Maximum, rolling her eyes. But, please, call her Max. Don’t try calling her Maximum. Trust me, I’ve done it once and I’ll never do it again.
“How long ‘till be get to DC?” asked Nudge. She’d been doing this for a long time, too. Also getting annoying.
I was getting pretty tired, too, but I tried not to show it. After all, I am practically second in command.
So, who are we, why are we running for our lives, and who the heck would name their kid Maximum?
I’m Fang. There’s also Max (age fourteen), Iggy (also fourteen, like me), Angel (six), Nudge (eleven), and The Gasman –Gazzy-(eight). We named ourselves (guess that’s pretty obvious).
We’re not you’re average kids. We’re mutants, with wings. Some of us have powers (e.g., everybody but Max and I). Nudge can tell who used an item last and everything about them, just by touching it. Gazzy can imitate any sound- which is really inconvenient for a eight year old who has an interest in gross bodily functions. Iggy, who is blind, can tell who a fingerprint belongs to, and Angel can -this is pretty weird- read minds, breathe under water, and CONTROL MINDS. Kinda disturbing.
I beat my wings a bit harder and moved up alongside Max. She looked kind of stressed. Her beautiful brown hair was a tangled mess, and she still had dried blood on her face. Maybe because she had killed Ari, a mutant- wolf man –called Eraser- and a kid we had grown up around. She had only done it in self-defense, though.
“You okay?” I asked her.
“In what way?” she asked. “Could you be more specific?”
“Killing Ari.” I don’t like to beat around the bush. I’m not that kind of guy.
A look of sadness passed over her.
“It was you or him,” I said. “I’m glad you picked him.”
She let out a deep breath. But she didn’t look any happier. I decided she needed to be alone for a little bit, so I gave an extra beat of my wings and moved ahead.
A few minutes later Max pulled up above me.
“Here, have a dog,” she handed me Total, Angel’s dog. Then she sped up, flying in front of us.

DENVER - The Earth's shadow will creep across the moon's surface early Tuesday, slowly eclipsing it and turning it to shades of orange and red.
The total lunar eclipse, the second this year, will be visible in North and South America, especially in the West. People in the Pacific islands, eastern Asia, Australia and New Zealand also will be able to view it if skies are clear.
People in Europe, Africa or the Middle East, who had the best view of the last total lunar eclipse in March, won't see this one because the moon will have set when the partial eclipse begins at 4:51 a.m. EDT. The full eclipse will begin an hour later at 5:52 a.m. EDT.
An eclipse occurs when Earth passes between the sun and the moon, blocking the sun's light. It's rare because the moon is usually either above or below the plane of Earth's orbit.
Since the Earth is bigger than the moon, the process of the Earth's shadow taking a bigger and bigger "bite" out of the moon, totally eclipsing it before the shadow recedes, lasts about 3 1/2 hours, said Doug Duncan, director of the University of Colorado's Fiske Planetarium. The total eclipse phase, in which the moon has an orange or reddish glow, lasts about 1 1/2 hours.
The full eclipse will be visible across the United States, but East Coast viewers will only have about a half-hour to see it before the sun begins to rise and the moon sets. Skywatchers in the West will get the full show.
In eastern Asia, the moon will rise in various stages of eclipse.
During the full eclipse, the moon won't be completely dark because some light still reaches it around the edges of the Earth. The light is refracted as it passes through our atmosphere, scattering blue light — which is why the sky is blue — but sending reddish light onto the moon.
"When someone asks why is it (the moon) red, you can say because the sky is blue," Duncan said.
The next total lunar eclipse occurs Feb. 21, 2008, and will be visible from the Americas, Europe and Asia.

Yay! i drew her! i love it! ^_^ her hair's from some blonde girl from Full Moon (never watched/read it, just saw an ad)... and her eyes are from Rena from Fall in L♥ve Like a Comic! :) i dont like the bottoms of the eyes, though... i think i made them too dark... they make her look old or sleepless.

TORNADO!!!
there was a tornado earlier. like, 1/2 and hour ago... it didnt hit us, though. Thank GOD! I had to CARRY Mattie down to the basement and Kobe, who weighs about as much as me, if not more, would NOT go down there. Kitty Bud happily went down there and... oh, crap! the basement windows is open! he might still be down there! or outside... brb.
okay. i didn't see him down there... and the screen's still intact, so he's not outside. *phew*
i was so freaked earlier! When i saw the warning on TV i grabbed my iPod, The Secret Hour, a pencil, and my sketchbook. then i told my brother. we had to go down to the basement, as i told you. well, it's all good now. i'm going to call girlnextdoor now... make sure the tornado somehow missed my house but got her house, even though we only live 1 street away... lol.

*gasp* omg that was terrifying! i was minding my own buisness, making a bagel. we have a toster oven (my mom just threw out our normal toaster cuz it broke and refuses to buy a new one). the toaster oven clicked, saying that it was done. so i opened it up, and guess what was there? FLAMES!!!!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
i tried blowing them out, but they were too big. i yelled for my brother but he didnt feel the need to come. so i filled a cup up with water and poured it onto the flames. part of my bagel was soft, but i guess that's the price to pay for not letting the house burn down... lol.
my friend said that once when she was little the microwave cought on fire. but just a little flame... guess we're cursed! lol.
ugh the house smells like smoke...

iPod Nano!!!

Yay! yesterday i just bought a silver iPod Nano! yay!
it took me FOREVER to get the newest version of iTunes downloaded. i just couldn't get it! but it's working now... loading the songs onto my iPod. i used to have a 1st generation iPod Shuffle... but i lost it. i've been saveing all summer for a Nano! i bought the cheapest one, the one that can only hold 500 songs. i doubt i'll ever use up all that space. well... maybe... with audiobooks, though.
I'm bored... kinda... yeah... guess I'll go back to watching Tokyo Mew Mew.

our town has this thing called the Farmer's Picnic... there's a parade, and they have booths @ the park. and fireworks Saturday night! we didn't go 2 the parade or park (oh, and there's a talent show... it was so loud we could hear it from our house!!! geez!). but the fireworks r tonight! yay! we were going to watch the fireworks... half an hour! ill post pix of they turn out! i get to try out the Fireworks thing on my camera finaly! yay!!!

when i graduate, i'm moveing far away. i thought i'd go to collage around here, but realized that what my mom said would happen. she said if i go to an out-of-state collage, i'd probaly meet someone then get married there. i don't want that to happen here. i think i'll go to collage in new york. that's where i'm going to move. n ot necessarily the city, maybe Queens. i dunno. but if i'm gonna be a writer, i want to have good publishers around!

Mintues Like Hours
You walk into the storeand stride down the aisle.You pick me up andtry to look casual whileyou carry me downto the checkout line.Pull out your wallet,you soon will be mine.Your friends are observingevery move you make.The clerk asks for ID-you show him a fake.You quickly walk downto the front of the store.Your friends are waiting for youas you step out the door.You hop in the carand drive away from the shop.Then you turn off the ignition,and pop off the top.You take a few drinksand pass me around.That’s when you decideto take a drive around town.You turn on your carand put your foot on the clutch.I’m sober, you think,I didn’t have very much.You pull onto the roadwith me at your side,Taking occasional sipsas you enjoy the ride.Then the brakes on the carin front of you squeal.You try hard to stop,but lose control of the wheel.You skid off the road,and you know you have crashed.The dashboard is shattered,the windshield is smashed.Minutes like hours,You’re in treacherous pain,that washes your senses,envelopes your brain.The screams all around youare faint to your ears,as life flashes before you,your hopes and your fears.Minutes like hours,you please and you pray,I’ll never touch it again,just let me live one more day.Your mind starts to go dark,it falls apart piece by piece.And then you slip into blackness,the pain has finally ceased.Before you entered that store,you should have thought twice,for I am the substancethat cost you your life.Vidhya Chandrasekaran, from Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul III

Somebody Should Have Taught Him
I went to a birthday partybut I remembered what you said.You told me not to drink at all,so I had a Sprite instead.I felt proud of myself,the way you said I would,that I didn't choose to drink and drive,thought some friends said I should.I knew I mad a healthy choice andyour advice told me was rightas the party finaly endedand the kids drove out of sight.I got into my own car,sure to get home in one piece,never knowing what was coming,something I expected the least.Now I'm lying on the pavement.I can hear the policeman say"The kid that caused the wrek was drunk."His voice seemed far away.My own blood is all around me,as I try hard not to cry.I can hear the paramedic say,"This girl is going to die."I'm sure the guy had no idea,while he was flying higy,because he chose to drink and drivethat I would have to die.So why do people do it,knowing that it riuns lives?But now the pain is cutting melike a hundred stabbing knives.Tell my sister not to be afraid,tell Daddy to be brave,and when I go to heaven toput "Daddy's Girl" on my grave.Someone should have taught himthat it's wrong to drink and drive.Maybe if his mom and dad had,I'd still be alive.My breathe is getting shorter,I'm getting really scared.These are my final moments,and I'm so unprepared.I wish you could hug me, Mom,as I lie here and die.I wish that I could sayI love you and goodbye.Retold by Jane Watkins, from Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul

Ever wonder why your life couldn't be as funny and glam as shows like Hannah Montana or That's So Raven?
Well, unless you have a complete and utterly boring life, it basicly is.
I mean, we don't have comedien that make it totaly funny. but think of your life...
~GND stopping in the middle of the road to brush her hair (srry, i just couldn't leave that out)
~Me and Angel's canoe completly filled w/ water (click here for the whole story)
~My horse not listening to me AT ALL when me and my girl scout troop when to Pennsylvania.
The huge creepy spider that snuck up on me when i waz blogging a couple months ago (i screamed like a girly-girl!)
~The fly that WON'T LEAVE ME ALONE RIGHT NOW!!!
~Dressing up like vamps w/ Angel
~Throwing Girlnextdoor, Angel, Cheli, and my brother out of our golfcart. (at diff times)
~Girlnextdoor hitting all the holes in our yard w/ the golfcart to tourcher Angel and I
~Angel and me trying to wash the dogs (click here for the whole story)
~Making the mistake of going on a ton of super-fast-and-high rides at the fair (i didn't throw up... but it was soooo close!)

And those are just a few funny moments. i know, the comp not listening to me and the fly that owuldn't leave me alone doesn't sound funny, but just imagine it on The King of Queens. Now, it's funny there, isn't it???
Our lives are very much like those comedies. they just don't have professional comediens.

Ugh!
I'm @ my g'ma's right now. i have a denstist appointment. I HATE that dentist! we went 2 a diff one last tym, cuz my g'ma was taking us, and he's really close to her. but he's AWEFUL!!! u kno the polisher thing? the circle that spins around on a stick? he pressed down SO hard! it hurt SOOOOO badly!!! and the hygenist was showing me how to floss (uh, hello, i KNOW how to floss!), and she pressed down WAY too hard with the floss!!! i had a little bump on my gums! and then they gave me this grooooss stuff, floride or somthing, that burned my mouth. i felt sooo bad when i got out. i normaly LIKE going to the dentist! i refuse to go to that guy again!
well, i dont have a choice today. they have 2 put some stuff on my back teeth or somthing. NOT fillings! ive never had a cavity in my LIFE!!! haha!
ugh my g'ma's comp is soooooooooooo slow! they have dial-up. GRRR!!!
