About me
Courtney
I'm a teenage otaku who likes to draw and sew cute plushies. Right now I'm in the middle of more than five animes... Sometimes it can get pretty confusing as to which anime to watch next. I'm trying to learn Japanese... What else? Oh, I can be very random. And obsessive. So beware.
I finally got out from under the creature with the help of the pack. “You okay?” asked Matt. “Fine,” I said quickly, “How about you guys?” “We’re all okay,” said Rika in her soft, whispering voice. She paused for a minute then her voice broke, “Li’s gone,” she said loudly, then, can you believe it, she started sobbing. I held her close; the rest of the pack that hadn’t transformed back yet tilted their heads back, and sang a mournful howl to the sky. “Come on guys,” I said, the howl ended abruptly, “If we’re ever going to find Li, we’re gonna’ have to learn how to fly, got it?” The pack nodded grimly to show they understood. “Let’s go!” I shouted, “We start training now,” I said in the most commanding voice I could master. All right, I thought, let the training begin.
Chapter 9
I found a rock, and stood on it, you know, for dramatic effect, “All right,” I said in a loud, masterful voice, “Wings out!” I felt like a military officer, standing up here and watching them follow my orders. After everyone’s wings were unfurled, including mine, I tried to decide what we should do next. “Okay,” I said in my loudest voice “let’s try to move them up and down to get familiar with how they work.” Everyone started trying to move their wings up and down. I touched my wing; I could fell that, in some weird, underused place on my body that I never knew about. I tried to move that part of my body and found that I could. I did the same with the other wing, in no time; I could move both up and down. I went around and helped the pack with theirs by using the same technique that I had used for my own. Soon, the whole pack was able to flap their wings up and down. I was watching the pack flap their wings up and down when it hit me, none of our wings had even been used before. I couldn’t expect them to just be ready to fly as soon as we were. It would take days to strengthen our wings enough to fly. So began a long number of tiring days as we all made valiant efforts to make our wings stronger. I knew we were wasting valuable time, but we had to do this, we had to learn how to fly no matter how long it took. I was going to save Li, or die trying.
