Courtney
I'm a teenage otaku who likes to draw and sew cute plushies. Right now I'm in the middle of more than five animes... Sometimes it can get pretty confusing as to which anime to watch next. I'm trying to learn Japanese... What else? Oh, I can be very random. And obsessive. So beware.

The Truth About Forever

12/1/08

Mm-hmm... So, Thanksgiving was fun. I played with my eleven-year-old cousin and listened to my mother and aunt talk. Then, afterwards, my family went to the movies, per tradition. We saw Four Christimases... Gah, I hate holiday movies. They're all the same. And none of them will be remembered in ten years. Well, except for Christmas Vacation. That's a great movie!

I'm... I'm supposed to be doing Biology homework right now. Yeah... Now working out so well. I'm waiting for my dad to come back home so I can ask him what "mechanism of infection" is supposed to mean...

For your entertainment purposes: The Allen and Craig Show! Episode 9. (These guys are freaking hilarious! Seriously, at least watch the beginning.)

Craig reminds me of Eric Foreman from That '70s Show, and Allen reminds me of Reese from Malcolm in the Middle. The similarities are frightening!

Invader Zim

8/7/08

"From people turning into bologna to dancing cows..."
-Cap't Scurvy (iTunes review)

As many cult phenomena are, INVADER ZIM was ahead of its time and misunderstood by its handlers. Nickelodeon canceled the show prematurely, not knowing quite what to do with it, just as it was developing a d
edicated audience. The entire series is now collected here. INVADER ZIM is an alien Irken, banished from his homeworld for ruining the Irken plot to rule the universe. With the announcement of the newer and better plot, Zim begs his masters for another chance. Eager to rid themselves of the irritating Zim, he is sent to Earth, which he believes it is his mission to conquer. Disguising himself as a boy, Zim goes to human school to learn more about the beings it is his sacred duty to dominate. But only Dib, a paranoid enthusiast of the occult, realizes who and what Zim is. Now Zim finds himself with an opponent just as dedicated and incompetent as he. INVADER ZIM won its audience through a combination of vivid, bizarre characters, black humor, and atmospheric music. It was created by comics artist Jhonen Vasquez, also behind the cult comic book JOHNNY THE HOMICIDAL MANIAC.

(review from ebay)

Heh, heh. Black humour. That's for sure! I just love the way this show is described here. It's perfect!

This is definitely my favourite non-anime cartoon! Eh, well, the only cartoon I *ever* watch.

It was canceled by Nickelodeon because (besides the reason above) it was "disturbing for children." Actually, I agree with that. This show is way more suited for teens. I remember seeing a couple of episod
es when I was younger, and it kind of freaked me out. The episodes I remember seeing were... The lice episode and the FBI Warning episode.

Heh, someone reviewed Invader Zim on iTunes and said "It gets so weird sometimes that you wonder why you're still watching it, but in between those strange moments, it's flat-out hilarity."

This show can be so RANDOM, too! Like, in the episode with Tak? Dib was running back and forth, trying to find a way to stop her, and on the last time he ran across the screen, he was skipping and licking an ice cream cone! I had to watch that three times before I could convince myself that I wasn't hallucinating.
Of course, Gir is the best example of randomnes
s.

"TACOS!"

"YAY! BRAINS!"
"I want to be a mongoose. Can I be a mongoose dog?"
"Hi, floor! Make me a sammich!"
"I'm going to roll around on the floor for a bit, 'kay?"
"I'm running... I'm running... I'm running... I'M NAKED!"
Zim: Gir! Come to the observatory! Gir(pops head out of hole in ceiling): Yeeees? Zim: What have you done to the telescope? Gir: Nothing. Zim: You haven't touched it? Something is broken and it's not YOUR fault?? Gir(sounding frightened) I know...I'm scared too!

...You get the point.

I'm so sad because I haven't been able to watch the second season yet!!! I tried a Nick site, but it was all screwed up. Maybe I'll try it on my 'rents computer... (I know they'll love that.)

Hey, look! Cosplay!

...Hehe. <333

How Star Wars would be different if it were Anime.....

7/9/08

*Two words: missile swarms.

*Luke would do a lot more screaming.
*All the important stuff, like Ben's death, would be repeated three times.
*Vader would be at least eight feet tall.
*X-wings and Y-wings would transform, and then combine to form a more powerful craft.
*The Death Star's super laser would have an even flashier charge-up sequence.
*The destruction of Alderaan would be preceded by idyllic ground-side sequences. Then everyone looks up, and BOOOOM. (cf Hiroshima)
*When Luke lines up on the exhaust port, he hears Ben's voice. Everything freezes, tight clasp on one of Luke's eyes as the background goes black. "Luke. Trust your feelings."
*Yoda would look much like Happosai.
*Fans would draw pictures of a naked Luke and Leia embracing *after* their parentage was revealed. In fact, it might not be revealed until after they'd slept together (cue the angst).
*Jabba the Inju would get a lot more, um, friendly with Slave Girl Leia. (FAN SERVICE!)
*The Emperor would be even taller than Vader.
*The Ewoks would be even cuter. (Eeeeeee...)
*Lando and the Falcon would be destroyed, probably accompanied by a flashback with lots of cherry blossoms.
*Han Solo, being the epitome of American Power, would be blond, carry around a HUGE gun, and scare small children.
*Alternately, Han would wear an eye patch and cape. (and the Millennium Falcon would have a poop deck...)
*The Mon Calimari would have ships that heavily resembled units from the various Darius games. (Giant mechanical FISH!)
*Luke would have black hair, and be a lot more negative.
*Light sabers would be replaced by katanas or Chinese long-swords that would glow so you could see which was flashing against the black background. The swords would have to be metal, so that injuries could be emphasized with gushing blood.
*Chewbacca would have horns, although he might otherwise resemble an upright Mugi.
*The Emperor would have tall spiky hair and little bits of things would float upward in slow-mo when he zaps Luke.
*Lightsaber scenes wouldn't be 9 (counted!) per 6-hour trilogy, but per half-hour episode.
*The AT-AT would have claws. BIG ones.
*Vader would still be Luke's father, but we would have known about it waaaaay before Luke did.
*Luke's uncle and aunt would really be alive!
*The sand crawler would have flown.
*We'd see the Sarlac's full body.
*Leia wouldn't have a band of surgical tape constraining her generously sized breasts in all three movies except for the Metal Bikini scene.
*For that matter, Leia wouldn't have been wearing a Metal Bikini, either.
*The Rancor wouldn't have had a big bold black outline, but it would have drooled MUCH more.
*The AT-ST would have been either arm less and rounded or armed and squared off, not arm less and squared.
*Imperial pilots would have been cloned from the very beginning.
*Every time Vader tells some fool that he's underestimating the power of the Dark Side, the bystanders would mutter "Sugee!"
*The music and soundtrack would be much worse and less orchestrated, but have singable lyrics.
*Greedo wouldn't have been the only one with blue hair.
*There wouldn't be Imperial-class Star Destroyers. Super-class Destroyers would be the *very bare minimum*.
*The sound of the Force would have been "DONNNNG!" (a la Akira)
instead of "WhwhWhwhWhwhWhwho..."
*Three words: Super Deformed Stormtroopers.
*Princess Leia would wear a sailor suit...and she would sing.
*Vader wouldn't have to squeeze air to kill a guy with the force. He would just touch him and tell him "You are already dead," followed by gratuitously vile explosions.
*Luke's aunt and uncle would run a dojo instead of a farm.
*The Millennium Falcon would sport a big skull and crossbones.
*Luke wouldn't have to use a rope to jump across a trench. Anime heroes can jump as far as they want to.
*Emperor Palpatine would have a daughter. In an amusing mix-up, Luke would be betrothed to her.
*Bandai would make kick-ass toys.
*R2-D2 would be cuter...and he would fly.
*The explosion of the Death Star would be shown with a sequence of watercolor paintings.
*C-3PO would be a girl robot...with the hots for Luke.
*People would actually drink beer in the cantina.
*Luke would not build his own lightsaber. He would have to win it from a demoness who has been imprisoned for thousands of years... and who has the hots for Luke.
*Obi Wan Kenobi wouldn't disappear when Vader cuts him down, he'd get sliced in half. It would just take him a couple of seconds to figure it out.
*There would be a LOT more walkers.
*X-wings would have cool heads-up displays.
*Emperor Palpatine's legs and lower torso would dissolve into a mass of cables and merge with the new Death Star.
*Did I mention Princess Leia's sporty yet feminine powered armor?
*Speeder bikes would be replaced by monster-sized racing cycles...with lasers.
*Boba Fett would have a bigger part.
*A nemesis TIE fighter pilot would defect...and have the hots for Luke.
*Luke wouldn't agonize over Vader being his dad until AFTER he killed him.
*The American voice actors would be crap, and the subtitled version would be more expensive.
*Series titles would be Star Wars, Star Wars Zeta, and Forever Star Wars Double Zeta. People would argue interminably about the time line conflicts

ください = give it?

7/8/08

This online translator cracks me up. I was bored, so I typed Japanese words into it. If the results weren't completly confusing, they were hilarious:

ください(please) = Give it
コートニー(Courtney) = Coat Knee
ごめん なさい(I'm sorry) =Unwelcome

And, of course, to prove that you should never use an online translator unless it is absolutly neccesary:
いっらっしゃいませ(welcome)= 《主語なし》It is and do っらっ and do now ゃ

I am finally here!

7/5/08

I am back from camp!
Okay, first off, I didn't make this clear. Sorry! I didn't have access to a computer at camp, I made the posts ahead of time and scheduled them to be posted while I was gone. ごめん!(Sorry!)

Camp was really fun! We did so many activities! But we had to wake up really early and go to bed pretty late at night. Wake up at 7:45am and go to sleep at 11:00pm. Well, lights out was at 11:00pm, but our counselor usually didn't make us go to sleep at around 11:30-12 :(
My room still isn't painted! Aurgh >_<>
My dad is going to make a loft bed for me! Yay!!! I'm looking up pictures right now so I can get an idea of what I want and draw it out for him ^-^
I need to check my deviantART messages! There's probaly going to be a lot! (I hope so!)
Courtney
PS. I was told that my parents are going to start checking up on my blog. They said that they were going to do that two years ago, but NOW they're doing it! T_T

Telemarketer Repellant

1. If they say they're John Doe from XYZ Company, ask them to spell their name. Then ask them to spell the company name. Then ask them where it is located, how long it has been in business, how many people work there, how they got into this line of work, if they are married, how many kids they have, etc. Continue asking them personal questions or questions about their company for as long as necessary.

2. Say "no" over and over. Be sure to vary the sound of each one, and keep a rhythmic tempo, even as they are trying to speak. This is most fun if you can do it until they hang up.

3. If MCI calls trying to get you to sign up for the Family and Friends Plan, reply, in as sinister a voice as you can, "I don't have any friends, would you be my friend?"

4. If they start out with, "How are you today?" say, "I'm so glad you asked, because no one these days seems to care, and I have all these problems. My arthritis is acting up, my eyelashes are sore, my dog has the gout..."

5. If the company cleans rugs, respond: "Can you get out blood? Can you get out goat blood? How about human blood?"

6. Tell the telemarketer you are busy at the moment and ask him/her if he/she will give you his/her home phone number so you can call him/her back. When the telemarketer explains that telemarketers cannot give out their home numbers say, "I guess you don't want anyone bothering you at home, right?" The telemarketer will agree and you say, "Me either!" Hang up.

7. Ask them to repeat everything they say several times.

8. Insist that the caller is really your buddy Leon, playing a joke. "Come on, Leon, cut it out! Seriously, Leon, how's your momma?"

9. Tell them you are hard of hearing and that they need to speak up . . . louder . . . louder . . .

10. When the salesperson asks, "Is this the homeowner?" say, "Is this the salesperson?" And when they say, "Yes," hang up.

Eh...

7/4/08

Okay, I will post more untill I get home from camp. Gomen. Lol. Here's something that I posted a long, long time ago... Funny! And true :D

Only in America... can a pizza get to your house faster than an ambulance...
Only in America... do people order double cheese burgers, a large fry and a diet coke...
Only in America... do banks leave both doors open and then chain the pens to the counters...
Only in America... do we leave cars worth thousands of dollars in the driveway and leave useless things and junk in boxes in the garage...
Only in America... do we use answering machines to screen calls and then have call waiting so we won't miss a call from someone we didn't want to talk to in the first place...
Only in America... do we buy hot dogs in packages of ten and buns in packages of eight...
Only in America... do we use the word politics to describe the process so well. Poli in Latin meaning many and tics meaning blood sucking creatures...

Soundtrack of My Life

6/29/08

How to play:
- Open up a playlist, set the song selection to random or shuffle mode. (thus whatever song you get is your answer, you can't choose your songs)
- Use the title of the song to fill in the blanks below.
Usually the title ends up as a fairly good answer, but if you end up with something obscure then put the general idea of the song in brackets. Also, the way the soundtrack of your life is set-up is that your life is like a movie.
Ex:
Regretting: Obscure - Dir En Grey (abortion)
The title didn't make sense, did it? But it's basically about abortion, so it fits in with regretting. And don't worry if it doesn't make sense at all. That's the fun of it.

Opening Credits: Born to Be - Ayumi Hamasaki
Waking Up: Who We Are- Hope Partlow
Falling In Love: The Hell Song - Sum 45
Fight Scene: Anything But Ordinary - Avril Lavigne
Breaking Up: Skin Deep - No Secrets (Beauty isn't just skin deep)
Make Up: Hero (Red Pill Mix) - Superchick
Secret Love: Hot - Avril Lavigne (That song is so dirty... I've been meaning to delete it.)
Your life is: Keep Holding On - Avril Lavigne
Mental Breakdown: Billy S. - Skye Sweetnam (Skipping school, not wanting to study)
Driving Scene: Fairyland - Ayumi Hamasaki
Flashback: He Wasn't - Avril Lavigne (Being disappointed with a guy)
Happy Dance: Born For This - Paramore
Regretting: Blue - Utada Hikaru (It's about... Not 100% sure. Read the translated lyrics here)
Long Night Alone: Fall to Pieces - Avril Lavigne
Final Battle: Welcome to My Life - Simple Plan (No one understanding you)
Death Scene: Too Little, Too Late - JoJo
Final Ending: Flavour of Life - Utada Hikaru
End Credits: My World - Avril Lavigne

(Yes, I am at camp right now ;) Scheduled posting is wonderful)

I'll try to think of six! This shouldn't be hard
1. I sit down in the shower. It's comfortable! I don't know why... I was on AnimeForum and there was a thread about whether you take a shower or bath (I take showers). Someone said that they sit down in the shower. Sooo.. I decided to try it! I like it. Been doing it ever since (laugh).

2. If I have gum, it will be gone within the week. I just bought a pack of gum last Saturday. I chewed the last piece last night. T_T

3. I am an orginize freak. I can't stand going into my bedroom right now because it's so freaking messy! Usually I just shove my junk under my bed or into my closet (out of sight, out of mind!). But I have to clean out my room cuz of the redecorating. And I can't stand our pantry! I had it all orginized, cans on one shelf, boxes on another, but no one will listen to the orginization! There are cans next to the cereal! It's madness!

4. I hate using soap when I shower. It's a sanitary thing. I mean, someone rubs it onto their washcloth, rubs the cloth onto heir body, and then probaly onto the washcloth again! Or, evem worse, soap-to-skin! I use shower gel, thank you very much.

5. My iPod goes with my everywhere. I mean everywhere. School, Angel's, I put hin on his dock and listen to him when I'm in the shower... Oh, yes. And I named him. Gerard. ;)

6. GRAMMAR. I have somewhat of an obsession with grammar. I hate it when people use bad grammar T_T It sounds uneducated. My mother uses bad grammar, and I can't stand it. *sigh*

I have camp next week! So you won't be hearing from me for awhile... Unless I try out that new thing Blogger has, where I can create posts ahead of time and set a time for them to be published! Then you won't be bored while I'm gone ;P
Random cosplay!

Jin's comments:
So... What happened here? o_O Kind of makes you wonder why L looks just a little traumatized, Light is absolutely exhausted and Misa is... very happy. And she's posing for poor Watari who just opened the door and is getting headaches from taking care of not just one, but three crazy teenagers. They keep finding ways to make him drop his tray of milk and cookies.

I went shopping with my grandmother yesterday. I bought some clothes (capris, a pair of trousers, halter tops, a t-shirt, PJs), books (Shoujo Beat, Juvenile Orion), and my grandmother bought a Naruto wall scroll for me! ^^ I was bidding on one on ebay, but then we went by a store that sells Asian-style stuff. It was onle $4! Half off. Yay!

Alias!

6/19/08

I just finished the first season of Alias. I'm so sad :'( My favourite character died!!!! *sob* Why does all the bad stuff happen to my favourite characters? Rock Lee, Gaara, Kisshu, the guy on Alias whose name I'm not going to say so I don't spoil it for anyone, even though this show is like eight years old and I doubt anyone is watching it. But still.
And the season was left off on a HUGE cliffhanger! I just called my mother (who left us all to go grocery shopping) and begged her to pick up the second season at Family Video. Lol.
My computer has a virus. I think. Everytime I try to go to a website that I have bookmarked, it takes me to some idiotic search engine. And videos won't load! I want to watch Shippuuden, dammit! Let me!!!
On the up side, Last Comic Standing is on tonight.

2) I was watching this video when I discovered how to tell if someone is Japanese by the shape of their eyes (later I learned the difference between Chinese and Korean).
3) This is a beautiful video ^^

My favourite song

Ima Made Nando Mo - Mass Missile

The translated lyrics are great:

There must've been a lot of things you had to bear with

You were crying in your heart, right?

You can't give up on that dream you've chosen, right?

More than the number of times I suffered, more than the number of times I doubt,

I want the number of times I laugh and trust others, and I pray that it'll happen in my life.

You might just have a supporting role

And you might just be a person who stands in another's shadow

When you face off with your dream...

Let him stay inside it, and let him be honest with himself.

[Chorus]

You've done this many times... You never gave up

You've done this many times... You stood up many times

You've done this many times...

We... Many times... Believed...

Many times... And dreamed...

Many times...

You've done this many times...

You've done a lot of stupid things... Many times...

You've stood in another's shadow many times

Yes, you're playing the main role now

Please let us dream of whatever we want.

~*~

Actually, these are only the lyrics to 2:00. Sorry. The only lyrics that I could find that wer ethe most accurate was the Naruto ending, subbed. The lyrics I found through Google aren't all that great.

Tokyo Mew Mew vs. Mew Mew Power

I know some girls who used to watch Mew Mew Power. They didn't even know Tokyo Mew Mew existed! The horrors!
4Kids is a disgrace to all dubbing companies.
(I mean, there are some good dubs out there! But none of them are by 4Kids.)

Tokyo Mew Mew is obviously better than Mew Mew Power!
I really can't imagine anybody wanting to watch Mew Mew Power after seeing any part of Tokyo Mew Mew.
I tried watching a couple episodes of Mew Mew Power... It didn't work out. Too painful.

Death Note... still on episode 1

I was sewing earlier. And watching Alias. And Tru Calling. So I haven't seen much more of Death Note...

This picture is so cool. I love the way L is holding the phone ^^

Isn't that couch sweet?

All this Shinigami-ness made me want to watch Full Moon again. Hehe. Episode 18. I forgot how cute the opening is!

Just a random thought...

I would make a terrible ninja. You know how in Naruto, when they're pursuing someone, they jump from tree branch to tree branch? Yeah, well, I wouldn't be able to do that. I would trip, guaranteed.

Death Note

Well... I started watching Death Note today. I know I said I would do it awhile ago, but Ryuuku creeped mee out too much. But this time I jsut skipped over that part. Every scene that included shinigami up until now, which is when Light and Ryuuku are talking in Light's bedroom.

To tell the truth, the only reason I really wanted to see this was because... (please escuse my fangirl moment) L is so cute! :D (You know, I sit in the same position as he does... hehe.) I wonder when he will be introduced... Probaly episode 2 (maybe ep 1, I don't know...).
I used to watch Full Moon wo Sagashite. I stopped a long time ago (around Christmas) because it started to bore me (I don't even remember what episode I'm on). But there is a huge difference between the Shinigami!
(If you haven't figured it out yet, the ones from Full Moon are on the top)
(*laughs* I just realized that the picture of Ryuuku has DEATH NOTE on it. So I would really worry about you if you hadn't figured out which picture was from which anime without looking at the note above XDDD)

This is waaay belated, but there's a piece in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art that's just three white canvases next to each other. It was worth three million dollars. Our tour guide told us not to breath on it too much, IT IS VALUABLE.Apparently they repaint it every year, so the white isn't even the original artist's doing. So lame.

I'm free!

I can finally post! Yay! That felt more like a curse than a dare X(

It took me about an hour just to get through all of my messages on deviantART for =draw-girl and ~DNAngel-club!
I was going to finish talking about my Chicago trip, but it's been a week, and... I don't feel like it. But you can read about the ride home (probaly the most important part of the trip) here and here.
So much has happened in the past three days! Well, a lot more than what usually happens.

1. Pocky! I bought Pocky for the first time! I love it. It's really good... And it's almost gone! Hehe. I bought chocolate and strawberry (the only flavours Meijer had). I like strawberry the best.

2. Plushies! They're so much fun to make ^-^ I finished my first plushie, a "flat" Gaara plushie :D I made him because at first I could only find red and beige felt, and by the time I found more, I had already made up my mind to make him. I'll post a photo later :D

3. Angel is haveing a p@rty today ^^ Like, a school's out type party, mainly because we're burning all of our papers from throughout the year! I found some old workbooks from sixth grade, too, so I'm burning those! And my agenda book collection from fourth through eighth grade :D I can't wait! what a pyro...

Random pictures!
(Just because I feel like it)

(Gaaah, there were more, but my computer's acting weird. I need to restart it.)

Ah, if you have time, you must check out *behindinfinity's page! He does wonderful cosplay ^^ Naruto, Ichigo, Kyouya, Ishida, Light, Ulquiorra, and a bunch of other characters. (The links there are to cosplays.)
After reading this and this, I really want to try cosplay sometime!
Okay, long post over. Need to restart Tamaki. (...That didn't sound right...)

Chicago Trip, part IV

After lunch, we went shopping on the Magnificant Mile (or something like that... it's a mile of stores and restaurants). First we went to Levi's, where we (Angel and I... Angel, her mother, my mother, and I were in the same group, so we went off in a different direction than some of our friends, who were in different groups) tried on some jeans (I tried on a trench coat, too, but the largest size they had was a small, so it didn't fit!). Then we went to some other store... I don't remember the name, but it had some really cool clothes! I got a black and white striped t-shirt dress ^-^ Angel bought one just like it, but blue and white.
After that, we went to... The Hershey's store! It was heaven (laugh). I bought a package of Twizzlers (they were gone by the time we got home). Then we went to Border's (of course!). I bought The Truth About Forever, Ouran vol 3, and Furuba vol 14. I just finished Ouran today (I'm reading another book, too, okay?!).
Where did we go after Border's... Um... Oh, we stopped at The Chicago Tribute's shop, where I bought this fawesome short-sleeved shirt! It's black, says CHICAGO in red rhinestones, and goes off the shoulders just a teeny bit. I <3>
After that, we went to a mall (Don't know what it's called... It had a Lego store, though. Hehe.). Angel wanted to buy a sweatshirt, but didn't find one (Too expensive! Too expensive!). We got hot chocolate at the coffee shop in that mall.
We saw some of our classmates in the Gap. They were without a chaperone! Apparently, their chaperone (He had three girls in his group :/ I'm not going to say who it was, though) went off without them (well, he took his daughters) and went to another store a few blocks away! They were just sitting in the Gap, waiting for him... The teachers stressed many times that we couldn't be in a different store than our chaperone... He would have gotten into so much trouble if he were caught!
After the Gap, we went to the busses... But we stopped at the jellybean first!
Once we boarded onto our busses to leave Chicago, we had to wait for nearly half an hour! One group was late. Our literature teacher was so pissed!
One more post, and this story should be finished!

Chigaco Trip, part III

Remember in that one post, how I said that I would rather go to the Hard Rock Cafe than the Rainforest Cafe??? Well! You know what was sitting right next to the Rainforest Cafe when we got there? The Hard Rock Cafe!!! Aurgh!!! The Rainforest Cafe was so noisy! I didn't like it. We sat right underneath a part of the ceiling that looked like a night sky... Lit up stars. Shooting stars! Hehe.
I think we went to the RFC instead of the HRC cuz our school got some sort of deal there.
I did get an anklet in the gift shop, though (it had a gift shop! I hate it when restaurants have gift shops!). It's cool. Blue beads, with one long cylindar-shaped white bead that has my name on it. Angel bought one just like it.
Short post, I know. But frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.
(Does anybody know where that is from? I forgot u_u)

Chigaco Trip, Part II

6/5/08

The charter busses were pretty nice. Two seats in a row, huge windows, compartments above (like airplanes!), air-con... I sat next to Angel. On the way there, Angel read, then passed notes with everybody. I read, drew, listened to music, and sew! When Angel saw that I had a needle out, she started acting like I would purposly poke her with it, or something!!! How rude! :D
When we went to the museum of... What was it... Ah, the Museum of Science and Industry. It was pretty interesting. Quite a bit was very boring. There weren't normal exhibits, the displays had buttons, and sometimes levers, that you push (or pull), and the display does something... Kind of hard to explain?
They had a model of a city (the city?), with a model train ^-^ It was huge! There was even farms on it! I love mini things~
Angel and I got our picture taken there... They had this thing where you could put on an old-fashoined hat and sit in this old-fanshioned-looking car, and they took your picture... Angel didn't was a normal photo, of course. She put on an insane expression while sitting at the wheel, and I tried my best to look terrified. It was hilarious! We each bought one. It's... in my purse still, I think...
Then, when it was around the time to leave, we got sooo lost!!! Our mothers (who came with us :/ ) couldn't figure out where to go! But we eventually found our way out.
I will continue later. I want to watch Shippuuden!
Courtney
PS. lol, the photo on this post had absolutly nothing to do with everything else.

Chicago Trip, Part I

Okaaay, I JUST got back from my class trip to Chicago... It is 1:42 in the morning!!! It is a long story as to why we got back so late. I shall explain my whole entire trip in parts. Hopefully, this part won't be too long, cuz I really should get to bed (even though I'm not tired anymore; the sleepyness passed around 12:00 am).
I woke up at 5:30 am. Uuuuugh. Got dressed, brushed teeth/hair, then I got on the computer! hehe. Right before we left, I remembered that I forgot to pack the fleece for the hat I'm trying to make (laugh) in my mother's bag! So I did that. Aaaand we left.
We reached my school at... Oh, I don't know! I really don't think that y'all want to know minutes-by-minutes of what we did. I would certainly find that boring :/
We reached the school, went inside, found out what bus we're riding in, waited in the room assigned to that bus, then finally boarded the buses. Charter buses! Very happy-making ^-^
I shall go now. That was very short and not at all interesting, but live with it! It's late, okay?!

Chicago

I'm going to Chicago tommorow with my class! I'm so excited! We're going to go to a museum in the morning, eat at the Rainforest Cafe for lunch, and then shop. Shop! Shop! Shop! I have sacrificed enough money to buy the rest of the Fruits Basket manga that I don't have for this.

(My maths teacher said that there is a bookstore...)
My mother is going with me, so I'll probaly be able to get her to buy me a couple things (a hoodie, at least), then I can spend all of my moolah on junk! Hehe.
~*~
Today in computer class, our teacher said that it would be okay for us to play online games, since it was the last full day of school. Sooo I read Naruto! I read over what would equal to a volume (laugh). So, yes, I am at the beginning of the Chuunin Exam arc.
Courtney
PS. Omg, I just went to that site for the Rainforest Cafe... Why can't we eat at a normal place?! The Hard Rock Cafe would be fawesome...

Background info: Kisame and Gai fought once, and then they fought again about three years later... Except Gai can't seem to remeber Kisame at all.

Gai: *gasp* Water-type ninjutsu and that huge sword... You-!
Kisame: Have you finally remembered?
Gai: I do feel like we've met somewhere before...
Kisame: ...

Gai: *gasp* I knew it! That sword...
Kisame: Got it now?
Gai: It's your weapon, isn't it?!
Neji: You can tell that jsut by looking at him.
Gai: But, there's a huge difference between thinking it's his weapon and knowing it's his weapon.
Lee: That's amazing, Gai-sensei! What incredible insight!
Tenten: You're just figuring that out?

I worry about that man...

Naruto dubs, Special Olympics, and a cute guy

5/31/08

Well, my week is all summed up in the title. So now I don't have to post now! Right?
...
*sigh* fine!

I volunteered at the Special Olympics near where I live. I went with my school ~ some people signed up. Actually, I went because of Girl Scouts. Our troop decided to go. Our troop is really small... three people! Nudge, Angel, and I! ww
Okay, all we really did was help out at some booths that had arts and crafts type things. Pretty boring, if you ask me. Nudge said that we would get back late, but we got back at 6:30! lol.
~*~
I was watching an odd Naruto chatroom thingee on YouTube when my brother called from the living room "Hey, Courtney! I think there's a Nah-roo-toh thing on the Cartoon Network!" So I went into the living room and watched part of it, just to see what episode it was (it's a filler that I skipped. something do to with Shino and Ino and fishermen and Naruto disappearing). So when commercial came on, I turned off the television.
And, yes, my brother did actually pronounce it "nah-roo-toh." I worry. My mother did that, too! What wrong with these people?! The only other time I've heard people pronnounce it like that was on Naruto Abridged 13. "Hey, guys! I'm Nah-roo-toh!" "There is no way you are Naruto."
~*~
There is an ah-dorable guy at my church! I just learned his name on Wednesday, after two months of going to that church, lol. But I've thought of him without a name so long that I just think of him as his name! It's kind of funny. I really need to talk to him. *sigh* I had exacly one chance. Well, one big chance. But, of course, I couldn't do it. I probaly would have pulled a Hinata, rolf.
For those of you too deprived to know who Hinata is, she is a very quiet and shy girl (click on her name up there for her profile). Whenever she talks to Naruto, it's usually like this: "Er, um, Ko-konnichiwa... Naruto..."
So, yeah.
I think I shall watch Shippuuden now.

Well, I'm up late working on a science project! Actually, I could probaly have been in bed a loooong time ago, but I keep getting disctracted!!! I made a new friend on AnimeForum :D
What else, what else... Ah, I went canoeing with Angel and my mother today... Our church was doing a canoe trip. My back is sunburnt, but it doesn't hurt too much.
Oh, I found this really interesting article! I haven't finished reading it yet, I'm only on page two. But it's raelly good so far.
Okay, not much of a post (especially for post #800!), but there really isn't anything to talk about. *sigh*
Oh, btw, for you non-Americans (laugh), today is Memorial Day... Haha, I really didn't know what this holiday is about 'till I read part of that article. I knew it had something to do with a war, but... Yeah. My aunt, who is from Mexico, told us that Cinco de Mayo really isn't much of a holiday in Mexico. I find that kind of funny. I thought it was a holiday like Independance Day, not a boring federal holiday like President's Day!
I'm going to be gone at summer camp on the Fourth of July (Independace Day) this year... Aw, I'm going to miss the fireworks! Oh, well... Maybe there will be fireworks at camp! I hope so! ^^

Chobits.

5/25/08

**Warning: This post contains spoilers!**

Chobits is... Amazing. The best! I love it. The ending was beautiful (probaly the best anime ending I've seen... I'll have to watch Furuba's again to see which one is better). I love what someone posted in the comments of episode 26:
sircanegiem
Added: 1 month ago
LOL... I agree though. Calling it a really good anime is an understatement. I think the reason it touches so close to many people is because some of the struggles in this anime are very close to things that we face on a daily basis in real life; think about how possible it would be to have digital humans in the future, and what problems this would bring to society. It's really a great plot, and with Chobits, I believe CLAMP set a new standard for all Seinen anime.
I didn't cry, though I was very close. I don't cry easily during movies or anime or anything on a screen. I got teary on one episode of Tokyo Mew Mew (the ep about Pudding's mother), and I think I might have cried a teeny bit on the last eps (I don't remember for certain, though). I know I did cry a little for Fruits Basket, but defintally not Naruto.
Anyways, Chobits. They never really did say if Chii (Elda?) was a chobit or not... I would like to think that she is. I mean, she cried, didn't she? Would a persocon cry? I'm not sure... But Chii doesn't act like a normal persocon, she seems to actually have feelings. Yes, I'm sure of it. I am glad that Chii and Hideki were able to be together. I really liked how they tied those books into the story, too :)
I guess there really isn't anything left to say...
If you haven't watched Chobits, do it!!! If you haven't seen it yet, though, it really wasn't wise to read this post...
Courtney
EDIT: After I posted this, I went to my blog to see if the post came out alright. The Chobits theme song on my playlist came on! lol.

My Trip

Okay, FINALLY I'm posting the photos from my trip last weekend! Go me! XD

(i took a lot of pix of random stuff!)
(Note: I took all of these with my crappy digi-cam. So I do have better pix, taken with my mother's SLR. But the scanner doesn't work, so... Gomen)

That weekend, I came to love sushi! It's delicious! I had some for lunch, then for dinner we got takeout from the same place, and I got what's in that pic. Kind of odd, but still delicious! The box kind of reminded me of a bento :D

With the top off.

I couldn't eat that pink thing... I'm not sure what kind of fish it was, but it was gross. It started to come apart, resulting in a squid-like thing. Ew.

It's my mini-melon! ^^

Reminds me of subway stairs :D

It's best not to take pictures from a moving car.

^^

hehe

This looked cooler when they neon sign was on... Purple! ^^

Anime.

5/23/08

I am going to list my favourite animes. In order. Why? Because I feel like it. Deal with it!!!

1. Chobits

Er, no, my first isn't Naruto Shippuuden. Shippuuden has yet to drawn me in. I'm addicted to Chobits (laugh). But only three more episodes left! Noes! I am going to miss Chii...

2. Naruto Shippuuden

Ah, there you are! :D Shippuuden is a great anime! I'm just not quite addicted yet... But probaly soon! The fight between Deidra and Gaara was good :)

3. Vampire Knight

This anime is exciting, intreging, and a bit freaky! I love it. I think there's going to be some romance, too... Well, it IS shoujo!

4. Fruits Basket

The anime is funny, the manga is great! I do with that the series would continue farther... Like the manga.

5. Ouran High School Host Club

One word: Hilarious.

I do want to see Death Note next! After I finish Chobits :P
